Prevention and Support Specialist

The role

  • Part Time – 28 hours per week, Fixed Term (until February 2027)
  • Level 8 - $91,158 to $103,184 pa (plus 17% superannuation)
  • Appointment to be made to current location

As an integral member within the Safe and Respectful Communities Unit, you will deliver early intervention, prevention and specialist response services that enhance student safety and wellbeing.
You will use theoretically sound, evidence‑based approaches to respond to student disclosures of sexual assault, harassment, violence and hazing across a range of service channels, and provide staff with the guidance and debriefing required to follow university processes and offer safe, trauma‑informed support.
In addition, you will help shape a positive culture of safety and wellbeing by managing effective student centred service delivery and driving prevention and early intervention initiatives.

About you

  • A degree in psychology or social work, along with unconditional AHPRA registration (for psychologists) or eligibility for full AASW membership (for social workers), supported by substantial relevant experience
  • Experience in providing clinical services to survivors of sexual assault, violence and /or hazing as well as providing organisational responses to the prevention and/or response to sexual assault and harassment or violence.
  • Demonstrated ability to gather and maintain data and provide accurate reporting on complex issues.
  • Initiative, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and ability to transform ideas into operational plans and outcomes.

The successful applicant will be required to produce, satisfy and maintain a “Working with Children Check”, in accordance with the Commission for Children and Young People Act (NSW).
